Character studies · Shockwave (Transformers One)
Shockwave only needs
one bright point.
One eye, purple armour, no mouth to help with the expression. Shockwave gets recognised anyway. I started with that bright point in the Blokees Transformers One figure, then noticed how much of the body is arranged to keep bringing me back to it.

The eye does the introduction.
This kit follows Transformers One, the 2024 animated film set around the earlier relationship of the characters who become Optimus Prime and Megatron. The film gives Shockwave its own body design, while keeping the features that introduce him quickly.
The single eye sits inside a dark opening, framed by a broad purple upper body. Dark joints and smaller metallic-looking parts break up the armour. Before I can take in the little panel lines, I already know where to look.
There is something satisfying about a face doing so much with so little. The eye gives the body a focus, and the dark opening around it makes that small patch of brightness stand out.

A hand on one side. A cannon on the other.
The arms make the figure uneven in a useful way. One ends in a cannon-like assembly; the other has a hand. Turn the torso and those two ends can pull the shape in different directions. Leave the weapon clear and it becomes the obvious threat.
The rear photograph is worth a look too. Shapes behind the shoulders change the outline around the head. A turn that lets those parts overlap the face will read differently from one that leaves the eye clear.
My starting point would be simple: eye visible, weapon separate, enough space between the main shapes. That suggestion comes from the photographs; joint travel still depends on the kit.
Shockwave has very little face and quite a lot of presence. The purple body gets your attention. The small bright point keeps it.
